Transit Security Grant Program (Tier II) Awards

Grant Awards for Fiscal Years 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009

• FY2009 grant awards total $36.6 million
• Eligible grant recipients are intracity rail and bus systems in 51 Urban Areas
• FY09 Funding Priorities reflect cost-effective projects that prevent or protect against terrorism and will have an immediate impact in reducing risk. Examples: security training for frontline employees; visible/unpredictable deterrence activities; drills and exercises; and public awareness programs
