Statement On United Flight 351 Diverted To Dallas-Fort Worth Out Of An Abundance Of Caution

WASHINGTON, D.C – United flight 351 bound for San Francisco from Atlanta was diverted to Dallas-Forth Worth International Airport (DFW) for security reasons.

Prior to departure, an unclaimed backpack was found onboard the aircraft and removed. Subsequently, while the aircraft was in flight, an unclaimed blackberry was found. The aircraft is secure, but was diverted out of an abundance of caution.

Local law enforcement and TSA officials met the aircraft after it landed safely.

All the passengers were re-screened, while the aircraft was swept for suspicious items. Nothing suspicious was found, and the flight continued onto its destination after approximately an hour.
