In a team effort to assist the local community, TSA staff at Dane County Regional Airport collected 200,000 aluminum can pop-top tabs that will be used to provide free overnight accommodations at the Ronald McDonald House for families of children receiving treatment at medical facilities in Madison, Wis.

The TSA staff has been saving the tabs from their break rooms and home soda cans. The effort was organized by Dean Schuch, environmental management coordinator and security manager, as part of the county's aluminum can recycling program. The TSA effort is expected to help fund accommodations for one family at the Ronald McDonald House for about six days and five nights.

"This is a great example of our TSA family in Madison coming together for an important cause that benefits the neighboring communities," said Federal Security Director Jane Hemberger.
