Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS), Chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, and TSA Administrator Kip Hawley got a first-hand look Monday at security operations at the world's busiest airport.
Thompson and Hawley toured Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport where they observed up close operation of the airport's checkpoints and high-tech inline baggage system. The visit provided the opportunity for each to meet with transportation security officers and also view progress on a $25 million expansion project that will enhance the efficiency of the airport's busy checkpoints.
