Two women who lost family on 9/11 thanked Transportation Security Administration employees on May 3 for the continuous vigilance they keep in protecting the traveling public from terrorists.
"Mother's Day is coming up," Carie Lemack, president and co-founder of Families of September 11, told a conference of TSA's deputy federal security directors at agency headquarters in Arlington, Va. "Having to hear all the advertisements for Mother's Day is very very difficult … for me and my sister. … So, it's timely for me to talk to you about my mom … to have this opportunity to let you know that she would be so thankful for everything that you're doing."
Lemack's mother died on American Airlines flight 11 out of Logan International Airport, Boston, which crashed into the World Trade Center. Lemack was joined by Rosemary Dillard, vice-president of the Pentagon Memorial Fund, whose husband died on American Airlines flight 77 out of Dulles International Airport.
