Transportation Security Grant Programs

Grant Awards for Fiscal Years 2006, 2007, and 2008

"Over the years, we've moved away from a 'dividing the pie' strategy to one based on risk."
- Kip Hawley, TSA Administrator

The Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Transportation Security Administration (TSA) provides security grants to transit systems, intercity bus companies, freight railroad carriers, and the trucking industry to help protect the traveling public and the nation's critical transportation infrastructure against acts of terrorism and other large-scale events. The programs fund high-impact security projects in the highest-risk regions in the country. Fiscal Year 2008 (FY08) transportation grant awards total more than $406 million.
