Civil Rights, Equity, Access and Inclusion

TSA is a committed equal employment opportunity (EEO) employer. TSA’s Civil Rights, Diversity & Inclusion Division (CRDI) ensures agency wide compliance with federal civil rights laws and regulations that prohibit unlawful employment discrimination. As the agency’s primary point of contact for internal civil rights matters, CRDI facilitates the EEO complaint process, and provides guidance, training, and technical assistance to agency offices and employees.

Our Vision

Ensure TSA is a high performing, diverse, and inclusive organization.

Our Mission

Foster an environment free of discrimination and workplace barriers in which all people are valued.

Branches

Affirmative Employment Branch

The Affirmative Employment Branch (AEB) provides agency guidance for maintaining the essential elements of a model EEO program in support of a fair and equitable workplace and mission success.  AEB also provides proactive educational efforts to cultivate an inclusive work environment that maximizes the strengths of all employees, while educating employees, managers and supervisors on EEO laws and the principles and practice of civil rights, equal opportunity, fairness and equity.

Reports & Analysis Team

AEB’s reports and analysis team produces and supports reporting requirements mandated by EEO laws and regulations, including TSA’s Management Directive 715 (MD-715) report.  The team develops proactive reports and analysis in support of data driven recommendations, actions, and initiatives to assist in resolving and preventing workplace challenges.   Supports, provides guidance and assists in the agency’s MD-715 barrier analysis efforts.

Training & Outreach Team

AEB’s training and outreach team provides proactive outreach and educational training and awareness through a variety of course options and the Civil Rights Diversity & Inclusion University (CRDI-U).  AEB also provides compliance training when unlawful discrimination occurs.  The branch works with agency staff to educate and conduct ongoing outreach and assessment of TSA’s policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with civil rights and EEO laws.
